Why Choose Nova
Traveling in China can be complex. Here's how I solve the problems that trip planners and apps can't handle.
Several major campuses open visitor centers and showrooms, but you need to book weeks ahead through the right channels. We arrange access to exhibition halls where autonomous driving, robotics, and smart-city infrastructure are demonstrated live—not a museum, but the actual R&D showcase floors. We schedule morning visits when staff give walkthroughs, not the afternoon self-guided mode.
Skip the mall food courts in Futian CBD. Real Shenzhen food lives in the urban villages—Hubei Cun near Huaqiangbei has Cantonese clay-pot rice stalls older than the skyscrapers above them, Shuiwei Village hides Chaoshan beef hotpot spots where the meat arrives twice daily from Shantou, and the seafood markets in Shekou serve the morning catch cooked to order at plastic tables.
Shenzhen's cultural depth hides in plain sight. We visit Dapeng Fortress—a 600-year-old walled garrison town on the coast that predates modern Shenzhen by five centuries. Then OCT Loft creative district where industrial warehouses became galleries and design studios. The contrast between a Ming-dynasty fortress and a drone-delivery hub 30 minutes apart is the real Shenzhen story.
3–5 days is ideal for the combo. Day 1–2 Shenzhen: tech campuses + Huaqiangbei + theme parks. Day 3 cross via Futian Port (15 minutes, we time it to avoid the 8 AM commuter rush) into Hong Kong for Victoria Peak + Tsim Sha Tsui. Day 4–5 Hong Kong islands or return. Stay in Futian or Nanshan—walking distance to the border, surrounded by the best food villages, and 20 minutes to any tech campus.
