Why Choose Alex
Traveling in China can be complex. Here's how I solve the problems that trip planners and apps can't handle.
Most visitors stop at the first beach, take one photo, and miss everything else. I'll plan a quiet 90-minute walk from Jiayuguan Road through Shanhaiguan Road where the German, Russian, French, and Japanese-style mansions sit—stopping at Huashilou (Stone Castle), key diplomats' villas, the small church, and Signal Hill panorama where you see why Qingdao is called "Asia's Switzerland."
Beer Street (Dengzhou Road) is one photo but tourist-priced and the beer isn't fresh. I'll take you to the original Tsingtao Brewery (No.1 Plant) and queue with locals at the next-door window for un-pasteurized fresh draft in plastic bags (the famous "beer in a bag"). Then a tiny neighborhood pijiuwu—plastic stool, fresh keg draft, spicy clams and grilled squid. This is Qingdao's real beer culture.
The horror stories come from Taidong night market and beachside tourist restaurants—I'll keep you away. Instead, a real local seafood market like Tuandao or Nanshan—I help you pick clams, mantis shrimp, and sea snails directly from fishermen at fair prices. Then 2 minutes to a small jiagong (process-and-cook) restaurant where the auntie steams it Shandong-style. Every yuan visible, zero scam risk.
2–3 days is ideal: Day 1 the heritage core (Old Town, St. Michael's Cathedral, Zhongshan Road, Signal Hill, Zhanqiao Pier sunset). Day 2 Badaguan, May Fourth Square, fresh-beer + seafood evening. Day 3 (optional) Laoshan Mountain or a coastal drive. Stay in Badaguan or Zhanqiao/Old Town—not the modern CBD. Walking distance to historic streets, beaches, and seafood; 10-min taxi reaches the rest.
Typical Tour
Dropped at the first beach for random villa photos—leave 30 min later.

Alex's Arrangement
A 90-min walk through Jiayuguan Road's German, Russian, French villas to Signal Hill panorama.

Typical Tour
Dengzhou Beer Street—overpriced skewers, generic draft from plastic cups.

Alex's Arrangement
Original Tsingtao Brewery, the famous "beer in a bag" window for un-pasteurized draft, then a neighborhood pijiuwu with spicy clams.
